Motability is the nationally recognised leading car purchase scheme for disabled drivers. It was set up as a registered charity during the 1970's to assist people with disabilities and their carers to purchase new vehicles, simply by exchanging their government funded mobility allowance.

There are almost 1.6 million disabled people in the UK who qualify for the Higher Rate Mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA). What happens to this money is entirely your choice - close to 500,000 disabled people now opt to have their allowance paid to Motability to meet the costs of a new car through a Contract Hire or an HP agreement. Motability offers a single monthly payment which includes insurance, full maintenance and roadside assistance cover for complete peace of mind. There are no age restrictions and you don't even have to be able to drive as you can nominate someone in your family or a guardian to be a driver.
